Someone filled the blank with rest. The rest never left the paper. A quieter chair two seats over already knows how to survive a mountain. He also knows how to print a still small voice on a slide and then keep the named exhaustion indoor, where a second person cannot still see bread, sleep, or a question.

This is a sermon for a church that already knows how to talk about rest after a fire and does not know how to make the meeting visible. If you preach 1 Kings 19 as a map of anyone's private mood, you will lie. If you preach it as Elijah after Carmel, a real Jezebel, a real wilderness, a real cave, and a God who feeds a man who asked to die, you give this church a God whose care can still be practiced where the flock can watch.
