When God Is Silent

Job is not a handbook for extracting an explanation from heaven. It is wisdom for a congregation that has to worship, sit, protest, hear, and see when God does not explain the loss. Week 1 lets grief worship with empty hands. Week 2 learns the ministry of sitting still. Week 3 keeps trust and protest in the same mouth. Week 4 receives a horizon instead of a transcript. Week 5 closes the arc: encounter with God changes the sufferer even when the suffering is not explained.
