A girl from the next driveway sat in the back seat while her father waited for the lot to empty. She watched the greeting team laugh in the same place the thrown household used to stand. Nobody named the empty space. She will decide on the way home whether this church is a people the God of Joseph still uses, or a people who sell a finished sentence and keep eating.

This is a sermon about the witness our neighbors can already see. If you preach Genesis 37 as a map of anyone's private wound, you will lie. If you preach it as Joseph's brothers throwing him into a real pit in history, you give this church a God whose unfinished work after betrayal has to change the story the street is already watching.
