The Making of a King

1 Samuel is not a leadership seminar with a crown at the end. It is the story of how God chooses, shapes, and sustains a king on terms the nations would never write. Week 1 learns the voice in a sanctuary where the word is rare. Week 2 names the hunger for a king like everyone else as a rejection of Yahweh's quiet rule. Week 3 watches God look past résumés to the heart. Week 4 takes off armor that does not fit. Week 5 closes with a knife that stays down in a cave, because the king God makes will not seize the throne by shortcut.
