What Evil Could Not Own: What This Changes Between Us

The foyer still treats last year's sale as a closed file. A family in this church tore in a way everyone can feel and almost nobody will name. The people who sent the message are still on the greeting team. The man they sold is still in the third row. Between them the official version is already printed. God meant it for good. Nobody has asked what that sentence now requires of the people who still share this room.

A woman by the coffee urn has a different finished peace. She can quote both halves if you ask her. She still introduces both households as if the fear never woke up after the father died. The room calls that unity.

A teenager in the balcony is deciding whether this church is a people or a rumor-management system with better theology.

This is a sermon about what Genesis 50 changes between you. If you preach it as a map of anyone's private wound, you will lie. If you preach it as Joseph's brothers after Jacob dies in a real household, you give this church a God who can redeem harm without calling the harm good, and a people who cannot treat a finished later sentence as the peace between the people who still share the room.
