Enough for Today: The Responsibility in the Room

The elder table still has last month's enough-for-today sentence in the minutes. God will provide. Three chairs around this table already know which household was named after the thin week and which chair still treats the extra sack as a later project. One of those chairs called the delay stewardship and then kept the meeting on time. Nobody spoke the next word the camp already needed.

A woman two chairs down signed the last vote that printed daily bread on the packet. She also signed the first one that left the named household in a smaller office. She has a sentence about prudence. She has not asked who still holds the room when a living people is still waiting on the sand.

This is a sermon about the responsibility already in the room. If you preach Exodus 16 as a map of anyone's private anxiety, you will lie. If you preach it as Israel in the wilderness of Sin, you give this church a God who gives a day's portion and will not let hoarded trust keep.
