This is a sermon for a church sitting with people who did not choose this full week and still treating unearned fullness as a private achievement. If you preach Deuteronomy 6 as a map of anyone's private gratitude program, you will lie. If you preach it as Israel on the edge of a land they did not build, receiving houses they did not fill, then being told to beware lest they forget the God who brought them out of Egypt, you give this church a living God whose character still belongs at a table they did not set, and you take away the cheap care that pretends fullness is proof they have arrived.
