A sober, pastoral sermon from Obadiah 1:15-21 for anyone carrying revenge fantasies after collective harm. The shortest book in the Old Testament was written to a plundered people betrayed by their own kin, and it refuses to let the wronged become the wrongdoer. The day of Yahweh returns the deed on the doer's own head, restores the scattered, and ends on a single throne that belongs to neither the predator nor the injured. The message takes the sword out of the wounded hand and points it back to a King who judges rightly, freeing a hurting congregation to pray for accountable justice, stand with the harmed toward a lasting remedy, and refuse the spoils.
