The Weight God Measures: The Road Back After Failure

The second weight is still in the drawer. Tuesday already used it. A number went out that was not the number. A story went across a table that was not the week. The meeting ended. The kitchen light stayed on. Nobody from the sanctuary is watching now, which is the hour the proverb was written for.

This is a sermon about the road back after a false balance has already been used. If you preach it as a map of anyone's private panic, you will lie. If you preach it as a success story that honesty will restore the week by Friday, you will lie in a different direction. Preach it as wisdom for people who already know what they did and still have to walk home. You give this church a God who delights in accurate weights. You also take away the cheap recovery move that treats a quieter story as if it were repentance.
