The Weight God Measures: The Witness Our Neighbors Can See

The sidewalk already has two versions of this church's honesty. Last month this congregation named a true number in the sanctuary. The neighbor who parks two houses down received a quieter version by Tuesday: a second weight for the house, an honest weight for the stranger, a deal that looked different once the visitor left the lot.

A watching person on this street is deciding whether the God you name is the God who delights in accurate weights, or whether the unofficial second-weight life is the only sermon they are allowed to keep.

This is a sermon about the witness Proverbs 11 already writes toward the city. If you preach it as a map of anyone's private panic or a technique for making the week convert, you will lie. If you preach it as wisdom for a people who buy and sell where a neighbor can already see the pan, you give this church a God who delights in accurate weights. You also take away the cheap mission move that treats indoor honesty as enough while the street drinks a different measure.
