The Weight God Measures: What This Changes Between Us

The foyer still has two versions of the same honesty. Last month this church named a true number in the sanctuary. One household received that sentence as cover. The chairs around them received a quieter version by Tuesday: a second weight for the house, an honest weight for the stranger, a hallway update that spent a name the person never gave this room permission to spend.

A neighbor two seats over is deciding whether this church can sit together without keeping two measures between them, or whether one unofficial second-weight sentence writes the public life the rest of you have to live under.

This is a sermon about what Proverbs 11 changes between you. If you preach it as a map of anyone's private panic or hallway temperament, you will lie. If you preach it as wisdom for a people who buy and sell, speak and keep secrets, ask for counsel or refuse it, you give this church a God who delights in accurate weights. You also take away the cheap community move that treats a second measure as the peace the rest of the room already has to keep.
