The Night Before the Cross

On the night before the cross, Jesus loves his own to the end. He washes feet with all authority in his hands. He names himself the way through troubled hearts. He promises the Spirit who stays. He commands remaining in the vine. He prays for every future believer. The church does not improve those last words. The church lives under them.
