What Evil Could Not Own: The Witness Our Neighbors Can See

The missions table still faces the parking lot. Last spring this church filmed a testimony about a family wreck and put the later sentence on the clip. God meant it for good. A man who rents the house across the street already watched it. A member sent him the link after a cookout. He also knows which driveway went quiet after the sale this church still will not name out loud.

A woman who cuts hair two blocks over has a different finished peace. She can quote both halves if you ask her, because people from this room keep saying them in the chair. She still waves at both households when they park on the same street. The block calls that a good church. A teenager waiting in the school pickup line is deciding whether this people is a light the neighborhood can actually see, or a rumor-management system with better theology and a table that faces the lot.

This is a sermon about the witness our neighbors can already see. If you preach Genesis 50 as a map of anyone's private wound, you will lie. If you preach it as Joseph's brothers after Jacob dies in a real household, you give this church a God who can redeem harm without calling the harm good, and a public life that cannot treat a printed later sentence as the story the street is already watching.
