The hallway answered with Yahweh is one and a promise that someone would walk the block. By Sunday the same porch can quote the Shema and still pass the unofficial we-built-this sentence as if it were the only story the sidewalk is allowed to hear.

A kid on that sidewalk is deciding whether this church is a people who sit at a table they did not set and still name the God who brought them, or a people who keep the Name in the sanctuary and let the street hear only how the house got full.

This is a sermon about the witness our neighbors can already see. If you preach it as a map of anyone's private gratitude program, you will lie. If you preach it as Israel on the edge of a land they did not build, receiving houses they did not fill, then being told to teach, talk, bind, and write before they eat and are full, you give this church a living God whose rescue still belongs after the plates are filled, and a people who cannot treat a printed hear-Israel sentence as the witness the block can already name.
