The Mountain of Provision: The Road Back After Failure

The restoration class still meets in the old youth room. The banner on the far wall still says God will provide. A man who told the truth last October sits in the second chair from the door. He has a restored title and a walk nobody has taken with him. The room thanked him for coming back. Then the room learned how to wait for a ram it could name from the parking lot.

A woman two rows over can tell you the same story from a quieter wreck. She came back after the hidden years. She signed the covenant. She also learned the new grammar of this church: provision as a weather report, restoration as a class, the costly mile as a later chapter. The week arrived like a valley that already knew how to keep the sentence and still stay off the mountain.

This is a sermon for a church that already knows how to survive a wreck and does not know how to walk after one. If you preach Genesis 22 as a map of anyone's relapse, you will lie. If you preach it as Yahweh testing Abraham in history and naming the mountain after provision, you give this church a God whose provision is discovered on the road of costly trust.
