The Mountain of Provision: The Practice That Makes It Visible

The journal is still open on the kitchen table. Thursday's printed prompt is still there: Where is God inviting you to trust him? The page under it is blank. The coffee went cold an hour ago. The man who owns the journal can name three books on surrender. He has not told his small group the actual thing he will not put down.

A woman two tables over at the Saturday formation class has a different blank. She has written "my calendar" three weeks in a row. The calendar is not Isaac. She knows that. She is using the practice card as a way of not naming the son.

This is a sermon about the practice that makes provision visible. If you preach Genesis 22 as a map of anyone's rule of life, you will lie. If you preach it as Yahweh testing Abraham in history and naming the mountain after provision, you give this church a God whose provision is discovered on the road of costly trust.
