Faithful in This Season: The Road Back After Failure

The apology already went out. Someone in this room will sit in a parked car after the benediction and try to make next week look like last March, before the thing they did. They will mean repentance. They will mean getting home. The hour God has given them will sit on the dashboard like a problem a competent person can still solve if they stay late enough, skip the hard pair, and get the calendar back.

This is a sermon for a church that already knows the poem and still treats repentance as a clock the failing person can rush, skip, or edit. If you preach Ecclesiastes 3 as a map of anyone's private weather, you will lie. If you preach it as a technique that makes the week applaud the person walking home, you will lie in a different direction. Preach it as wisdom for people whose failure already arrived, and whose road back still sits under heaven.

I have named a season accurately from a pulpit and still treated the next seven days as if the clock of restoration were mine to edit.
